Why use this view Open Employees by Skill How the view works What to look for Use it during changes Compare with staffing demand Important to know What next

Employees by Role changes how you view the schedule. Instead of seeing employees first, you see roles/skills first.

This makes it much easier to check coverage.

Why use this view

The standard schedule shows who is working.

This view shows what is covered.

Use it to:

  • Spot gaps in key skills
  • Check if demand is met
  • Balance work across skills
  • Validate your schedule quickly

Open Employees by Skill

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Schedule
  2. Click Actions
  3. Select Employees by role

The view will switch instantly.

How the view works

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

The layout changes:

  • Skills are now the main focus
  • Employees are grouped under each skill
  • Time still runs across the top

This shows exactly who is assigned to each skill at any point in the day.

What to look for

Focus on coverage.

Check:

  • Are critical skills fully staffed
  • Are too many people on low priority work
  • Are there empty time blocks
  • Is work evenly distributed

This is where gaps become obvious.

Use it during changes

After making updates to the schedule:

  • Switch to this view
  • Check coverage again
  • Fix any gaps quickly

It is one of the fastest ways to validate your changes.

Compare with staffing demand

Use this view alongside your staffing expectations.

Ask:

  • Does this match what we planned?
  • Are we over or understaffed?
  • Do we need to move people?

This keeps your schedule aligned to demand.

Important to know

  • This is a view only change
  • It does not affect the schedule
  • You can switch back at any time

What next
